This maker of high-end, wood-based desk and home accessories from Boston, Mass, came to E7 for a whole new name for his company and a keen identity that reflected his by-hand-by-wood wares. Tim's old company name and identity was always meant to be temporary and it looked that way. The amazing quality of his work just wasn't represented in the right way and he knew what had to be done!
We dug in and did the research, developed several ownable names (and secured that crucial domain) before moving into joining art and substrate. We took Tim through our standard operating procedure in the discovery process including mood boards, brand concepts, ideation and refinements. After a name was selected, the logo process went into high gear with explorations merging the artistry with the functionality of his products. An icon with a nod toward wood grain and a nod toward human touch was teamed up with a fresh industrious typeface for a brand identity that looks as good as it reads.
